TV star rushed to hospital and undergoes heart surgery

Former The Apprentice star Lottie Lion has disclosed that she was rushed to hospital and underwent heart surgery after collapsing during a walk. A contestant in the 2019 series, Lottie was just 19 when she reached the penultimate episode of the BBC series before being dismissed by Lord Alan Sugar after the interview stage. While she experienced considerable business success, her time on the show was also marked by several incidents that subjected her to public scrutiny.

A year ago, the former librarian, now 24, explained that she had relocated to Bali, but last week, she shared a selfie from a hospital bed. A few days later, Lottie has now revealed the reason for her admission, explaining that she is also awaiting a second heart surgery after falling ill during a holiday in Australia.

‘I was on a walk and felt extremely dizzy and was having heart palpitations,’ she recalled. ‘The next thing I knew, I woke up in an ambulance.’

Speaking to The Sun, Lottie said she had since been diagnosed with Wolff Parkinson-White, which causes an abnormally fast heartbeat, while she has also found out she has an abnormal heart rhythm. Currently considered medically unfit to fly back to the UK, Lottie will now have to undergo three months of medication and further surgery.
